Driven by recent advances in emerging technologies such as extended reality, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, the Metaverse technology is aimed to build a fully immersive, hyper spatiotemporal, and self-sustaining virtual shared space for humans to play, work, and socialize. Moreover, the metaverse is expected to significantly increase the usage of connected extended things to provide seamless extended reality. Incorporating human beings and devices into the immersive cyber space allows more complex interaction between them and lead to severe security and privacy implications such as (mis)management of massive data streams, pervasive user profiling activities, unfair outcomes of AI algorithms, to the safety of physical infrastructures and human.
Motivated by the extended cyber threat landscape and cyberattacks, this symposium welcomes manuscripts on all aspects of the modeling, design, implementation, deployment, and management of security algorithms, privacy mitigation strategies, and trust frameworks, protocols, architectures, and systems tailored for metaverse. Furthermore, contributions devoted to the evaluation, optimization, or enhancement of security, privacy, and trust mechanisms for the metaverse technologies are requested. High quality papers reporting on security, privacy and trust frameworks for metaverse from both industry and academia are encouraged.
